The dermatologist specializes in skincare and will be able to examine the acne on the face and other areas of the body to figure out which treatment options would be the best.

When it comes to treatment for acne there are actually several different options that can be used. For those with milder cases of acne, benzoyl peroxide is usually used to help reduce any blockages and eliminated the blemishes. Antibiotics can also be used to help prevent infection that can often take place with the blemishes on the face. For more severe cases, prescription medications may be designed to help reduce and eliminated the acne. The extraction of blackheads and whiteheads can also be performed by a dermatologist for those who are suffering with that particular type of acne. Clear skin takes time to achieve, especially for those with problematic skin. However, with the help of a dermatologist it is entirely possible for the skin to clear.
